Big Bang Theory ripping off Friends jokes?!

Even if you're not a Big Bang Theory fan, you've probably heard of Sheldon Cooper and his special "spot" on the couch that is reserved for him and only him. If you're also a Friends fan, you might also remember that Joey Tribbiani named his recliner chair "Rosita" and warned Rachel Green not to move "Rosita" when she was trying to rearrange the living room. The following link is from an episode from Season 7 of Friends where Joey explains to Rachel why "Rosita" is in the ideal spot in relation to the bathroom, kitchen, and the TV.

Is this all merely a coincidence, or something more? That's for you to decide. I can't reasonably compare Joey to Sheldon, (Joey's a struggling actor and Sheldon a theoretical physicist). This is kind of leading me to compare Joey to Penny, a struggling actress and the “dumb blonde” of the group. Joey is also portrayed as the “dumb friend” of the group and he’s a struggling actor. Whoa. Coincidence? I'll let you guys decide.
